Society for Ecumenical Studies AGM 2003

Annual General Meeting 2003

The AGM took place, by kind permission of Revd Dr Paul Avis of the Commission for Christian Unity of the Church of England at Church House, Great Smith St, SW1, on Feb. 12 2003. Click here to see the Minutes of the 2003 Annual General Meeting. The Society approved a new Constitution, in order to become a registered charity.

The meeting discussed at length the plans for the May conference at St Albans 'May they all be one...But how?', together with our expectations for the London Colney residential.

Mark Woodruff gave a paper about the influence of that great ecumenical pioneer, the Abbé Paul Couturier and the plans of the ecumenical initiative, CLEF 2003 (Couturier Links of Ecumenical Fellowship) to recover the ideals of 'Spiritual Ecumenism' and foster links in the style he adopted. The paper has since been published as part of the book, "The Unity of Christians: The Vision of Paul Couturier", copies of which are avialable from the Secretary.
